Wannabe Dads & Moms Group at Center Families

When: Thursday, December 1st, 7-9pm
Where: The LGBT Community Center, 208 West 13th Street, New York, NY
What: Meeting of the Wannabe Dads & Moms Group – A group for LGBTQ people exploring the possibilities of becoming parents through adoption and foster care. Center Families will be welcoming Michael Cleveland Hill, M.S., the Project Lead for Infant Adoption with Adoption STAR, a not-for-profit adoption agency.
Cost: Requested donation, $5 per household

Michael is a current employee and former client of Adoption STAR, and welcomes the opportunity to provide an overview of the agency (including his personal experiences with Adoption STAR as a client). Michael and his partner adopted their 2 and a half year old son Elijah with the agency’s assistance, so sharing some information regarding their own personal adoption journey is something he is pleased to do, as well as discussing transracial adoption and his very open adoption experience the family has with the birth mother.

Wannabe Moms and Dads is a group for LGBTQ people exploring the possibilities of becoming parents through adoption. It meets the 1st Thursday of every month, 7 PM -9 PM. For more information, click here.
